Customer Journey

From the moment you step through the door of the SG Estates sales office you will feel at home. Our sales executives are highly experienced and can immediately put you at ease with the process of buying a new build home.

Once you have chosen your plot and signed your reservation form, there are a number of key appointments that your Sales Executive will arrange with you.

Choices and Options Meeting

This is your opportunity to customise your new home! You can choose tiles, flooring, kitchens... and many more features and fittings (depending on the build stage). Your Sales Executive will explain which options are available and will then arrange a convenient time for you to visit and make your choices.

Pre-plaster inspection & meet the site manager

At SG Estates we pride ourselves on our quality of workmanship and ask you to come and take a look at your house prior to us plastering it. You will meet the site manager at this stage, which is a great opportunity to discuss any construction queries you may have with the house, it is also a useful exercise to make sure that the locations of all plug sockets etc are where you agreed during your choices meeting.

Home Demonstration

Approximately 2 weeks prior to your anticipated legal completion date your Sales Executive will invite you to attend an appointment to familiarise yourselves with your new home and answer any questions you may have.

Legal Completion

On the day of completion, we will wait for your solicitor to confirm that all monies have been sent and then your Sales Executive will contact you to inform you that we can release the keys. Your Sales Executive will then meet you at your new home and formally handover your keys! We will read the utility meters and complete any necessary paperwork. SG Estates will inform all the utilities of your arrival and update the local authority.

Warranty

The Buildmark cover is valid for 10 years, from the date of legal completion. Your insurance certificate, which will be sent separately, will show the date from which your policy commences.

The Buildmark cover has two main parts:

1. For two years, from the date of legal completion, SG Estates covers any physical damage or defect to your home caused by faulty workmanship or materials. Please contact our Customer Services team to report these issues.

2. During years 3 to 10, the NHBC insures you against the full cost (subject to a minimum claim value) of putting right any physical damage to your home caused by a structural defect in any one of the specified parts of the building. Please contact NHBC claims to discuss a claim in years 3 to 10.
